Not that long ago, if you wanted information on a specific topic or to look up an individual, a law or regulation or a business name, you would have to go to the library whether it was the public library, a law library or a corporate library.  There you would check out a book or report and flip through the pages until you found what you needed.
 
Fast forward to today where powerful search engines crawl the internet, making information retrieval much, much easier.  But that assumes that what you are looking for has been uploaded to a server accessible to the internet.
 
By some estimates, 80% of all data is dark data that resides in text documents, photos, audio and video.  Considering text documents, even if a document has been digitized and uploaded to a public or private network (think pdf's), you still cannot search for concepts within that document.

A dashboard like this would allow you to quickly find all documents which discuss, say, a certain maintenance protocol.  Then, through embedded links to the actual document, you can then open the documents to read for yourself the context in which the protocol is discussed.  We have typically built these dashboards using Tableau and Kibana, but we can also build for you a web-based application.
